Regardless of your business or educational goals, there’s a trade show out there for everyone. We pulled the top conferences from the biggest associations in the industry, so you can find the right one for you. 

Best Hair Shows, Barber Expos, and Beauty Conventions of 2023 (So Far!)

1. Hair Love Retreat

Dates: January 7–13, 2023

Location: Tulum, Mexico

2. International Salon and Spa Expo

Dates: January 28–30, 2023

Why it’s great: Still one of the biggest hair and beauty shows of the year, still in Long Beach, CA — ISSE is professional beauty experience you don’t want to miss.

As always, you’ll be a part of a curated offering of innovative education, the newest trends, products from the industry’s leading brands, and creative connections!

3. Cosmo Prof’s World of Texture Summit

Dates: February 27, 2023

Location: Virtual

Why it’s great: This annual event is the hair expo for only natural texture. This year’s focus in on Curl Type 4.

Attendees will learn about textured hair care, product innovations for curly types, and business management tips from leading brands, including DevaCurl, Sexy Hair, Alterna, Kenra, Joico, Matrix, Olaplex, and more.

4. International Beauty Show

Dates: March 5–7, 2023

Location: NYC

Why it’s great: IBS has always been an experiential event that empowers and activates a deep passion within beauty professionals. This year’s IBS show floor will still buzz, but with less crowded aisles, social distancing, and the fanciest masks you’ve ever seen!

5. Kristen Lumiere Tour

Dates:

Why it’s great: As one of the top salon educators in the country, Kristen Lumiere is taking her skills on the road for her 2023 tour. Expect a demo on day one: “A signature look created with techniques designed to simplify the process while getting incredible results”.

And hands-on business advice on day two: “Full recreation of the Day One Demo from start to finish while also breaking down the service time and costs so you can price for profit”.

6. Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show

Dates:

  • April 1–3, 2023 (New Orleans, LA)
  • July 22–24, 2023 (Long Beach, CA)
  • February 24–26, 2024 (Atlanta, GA)

Why it’s great: With a goal of inspiring, elevating, and educating cosmetology professionals and students, the Bronner Bros. Beauty Show is the world’s largest trade show dedicated to multicultural beauty!

7. America’s Beauty Show

Dates: April 15–17, 2023

Location: Rosemont, IL

Why it’s great: If you’re looking for a show to celebrate the reason you love your industry with other artists that are equally as passionate, this is the one for you. Everyone in the beauty industry can attend, including salon owners, cosmetologists, hair colorists, estheticians, and more!

8. Evolve: Salon Owner Summit

Dates: May 7, 2023

Location: Dallas, TX

Why it’s great: With evolving trends, hair salon owners have to consistently re-evaluate their the expectations of their clients and employees. Because stylists often handle these changes, it leaves a gap of information in your salon.

Close the gap with insider knowledge from Michelle at Beauty Business Guide. She teaches attendees salon budgeting, restructuring your service menu, transitioning to online scheduling, and more.

9. CT Barber Expo

Dates: May 20–22, 2023

Location: Uncasville, CT

Why it’s great: Babyliss and Wahl (just to name a couple) are sponsoring this barbering expo, so you know it’s going to be good. Not only is it a great opportunity to network with fellow barbers and brands, but you can even enter to compete in a barber battle if that’s your thing. Whether you want to compete or not, it’ll definitely be entertaining.

10. Ember Retreat 2023

Dates: May 21–24, 2023

Location: Palm Springs, CA

Why it’s great: According to their event site, “This isn’t a conference.”

Hosted by Jamie Dana and Piper De Young, “Ember Retreat is a 4-day all-inclusive business experience for bosses in the hair and beauty community who want to grow, connect, and relax with other likeminded friends.”

11. Premiere Orlando

Dates: June 3–5, 2023

Location: Orlando, FL

Why it’s great: According to Trade Show News Network, Premiere Orlando is the largest beauty show in the United States. With inspiring education from the best beauty experts, and top exhibiting companies, Premiere Orlando is a venue with multiple resources for discovering all of the latest techniques, trends, and products.

12. International Beauty Show — Vegas Style

Dates: June 24–26, 2023

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Why it’s great: Think you’ll have better luck (or more fun) in Las Vegas?

You can attend The Beauty Experience there, instead!

(Or, hey, double-down. Start with New York, then head for Nevada.)

Spend a few days learning, networking, and testing new products before you have to make any decisions on them.

13. International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference

Dates: June 24–26, 2023

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Why it’s great: Believing health and wellness should be everyone’s top priority, this event is all about education. Learn how to rejuvenate your business, gain confidence in your clients, and re-engage with your community with a fresh perspective!

14. Cosmo Prof North America

Dates: July 11–13, 2023

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Why it’s great: The Cosmoprof event is known as the premiere event for launching new beauty brands and introducing revolutionary technologies, so you’re sure to stay in the know on what’s shaping the future of the industry.

Plus, there are a ton of programs to attend and opportunities to foster new relationships with like-minded folks.

15. CURLFEST 2023

Dates: July 15, 2023

Location: New York, New York

Why it’s great: Created by Curly Girl Collective, CURLFEST is back from a three-year hiatus. Billed as “the world’s largest natural beauty festival,” CURLFEST is celebrating The Bounce Back in 2023.

It’s “a testament to resilience and commitment to creating safe spaces for our community to connect and build by way of art, music, and more. We’re bringing the best in hair and lifestyle while celebrating every expression of beauty from around the globe.”

16. Ubiquitous Women’s Expo

Dates: July 21–23, 2023

Location: Washington, D.C.

Why it’s great: This event has it all! From high-quality exhibits and star-studded entertainment to workshops and informative panel discussions with industry pros, you’re sure to walk away from this event with a fresh wealth of knowledge.

17. The Behind the Chair Show

Dates: August 13–16, 2023

Location: Austin, TX

Why it’s great: BTC is all about finding your people! There will be awards, parties, networking, and education — it’s an all-in-one event that will help you level up your social circle and industry skills.

18. Thriving Stylist Tour

Dates:
