Collaborating with respected local board-certified plastic surgeons Shelby developed a reliable post operative scar tissue restoration technique to solve some of the unfortunate consequences of invasive surgery. For over twenty years this team effort has greatly improved the patient’s recovery experience. Patients are no longer left on their own to struggle with limited range of motion, painful swelling, unsightly incisions, lumps, and adhesions, or post op depression. Leveraging life coaching tools, yoga, mobility, and nutritional counseling Shelby creates a supportive environment tailored to each individual patient’s needs. In a safe environment patients feel comfortable sharing their concerns and getting their questions answered. They greatly benefit from ongoing support until their recovery is complete. The opportunity to work closely with esteemed surgeons continually inspires Shelby to consume more training. She completed Mini Med School at Stanford University as well as A Glimpse into Surgery. She still attends ongoing psychology classes there to build upon her life coaching techniques. When patients expressed nutritional needs, Shelby completed the Nutrition and Healthy Living Certification at Cornell University. For many years Shelby assisted Yoga guru Baron Baptiste, traveling the world while training yoga teachers in his popular Power Yoga methodology. Shelby also trained durability and mobility with Onnit Academy in Austin, Texas, and StickMobility here in the Bay Area. Shelby is grateful for her training with Stanford’s late movement instructor, Keith Urban. Shelby’s latest passion is time in the OR.
