Road 2 Greatness Basketball Academy was founded in 2017 by Steven Hurley Jr. and Kentrell King. Coach Hurley and Coach King are enthusiastic about developing high performing athletes and pride themselves on bringing consistent passion and energy to every training session. Hurley is a former varsity starting guard at Marian Catholic High School who has coached and trained young athletes for six years, including as a volunteer coach for Granada Hills Recreation Center (California), Matteson Community Center, Alsip Park District, Team RWA travel basketball club, and A Step Ahead (Bolingbrook) youth leagues. King is a former standout player at Crete-Monee High School, helping lead the team to two Southland Conference titles, four regional titles, and a 2011 IHSA Class 4A Elite Eight finish. As a starting guard at the University of Illinois Springfield, he led the team in assists for three straight seasons. He is a former head coach for Illinois Intruders and is now head coach for Thornridge High School's sophomore squad and renowned AAU program Meanstreets (2028).
