I hold a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. My clinical journey includes over eight years as an addiction inpatient primary therapist, outpatient therapist, and Family Program Director, treating clients and families, which is a key element in recovery. My experience also includes a cognitive-behavioral, existential and solution focused approach towards anxiety, depression, trauma, and families dealing with chronic illness. Emotional Health & Wellness Coaching is different from the clinical mental health services provided by the medical institutions, in that Emotional Health & Wellness Coaching helps you address current limiting beliefs, and blocking factors that could be potentially affecting your personal or professional life (maybe it is affecting both). We allow you to look forward and not dwell on the past, although we do discuss how to recognize past and current triggers that are affecting your emotional and physical well-being. We help spouses/partners seek to understand each other and effectively communicate by utilizing the Gottman "Principles." While the relationship itself is the focus, each partner is expected to pay attention to self-improvement and self-awareness...ACCOUNTABILITY. The process involves strategies and learning skills to improve the relationship, such as communication skills, problem-solving skills, and strategies for discussing differences and overcoming problems together. Families can benefit from navigation when they experience any stressful event that may strain family relationships, such as financial hardship, divorce, or the death of a loved one. In addition, it can be effective in treating mental health concerns that impact the family as a whole, such as depression, substance abuse, chronic illness.
