Pilates made sense. The practice put me right in my body and out of my head. Exactly what I needed. Each breath, movement and session didn’t have to be perfect. It felt good right then and there and that was enough. I never had to wait for results. But results came and keep coming. My certification is through the Pilates Method Alliance. I am passionate about the method and love to work with both seasoned students as well as beginners. Now I remind my clients that the beauty of the practice is that it meets your body right where it is. That listening to your body and working from strength versus tension is key. That a sense of accomplishment at the end of a session is enough. That you don’t need to push yourself to fatigue or be so sore to walk the next day to justify. The time is for you and its best to get out of your head. Encouraging them to be diligent in there practice at the same time as reminders not to be too serious. And to breath. Keep breathing. Treat yourself.
