My focus in every modality I work with, as a practitioner and a facilitator, is to encourage a practice where we come together, each of us on our own journey, in a safe and fun environment. No judgments, no outrageous expectations and no negativity; only much love and gratitude, peace and appreciation for ourselves, the practice, and each other.

In the last few years of her teaching career she began to rely on yoga to give her the sense of being grounded as she determined the direction of her next stages in life. Retiring from public education in May of 2021 she began her yoga teacher training shortly after and received her 200 hour teacher credentials from Maya Yoga in Kansas City Spring of 2022. I discovered yoga while working at a local gym. I needed a calm balance to the high impact classes I was teaching several times a day. Yoga was the balance I needed in my life. After finishing my second degree I took a stressful job in nutrition that would soon have me craving balance again. So I took a leap and gave into my internal calling to be a yoga teacher. Soon I was offering classes to balance my life and continuing to learn. I enjoy the balance of being a student of yoga and teaching yoga. My classes reflect this balance through asanas, breath work and movement meditation.

Cara S (she/her)
Cara S (she/her)

Hi, my name is Cara Simmons (she/her). I graduated with my 200hr RYT in September of 2020, and have been teaching yoga as much as possible since. I found yoga when I was in college, but it wasn't until 2016 that I fell in love. I began practicing yoga (Ashtanga) daily and became completely smitten with the asanas, the pranayama, and overall myself. Yoga brought me back to the awareness of strength and patience that I forgot I was capable of. When The studio I was practicing at was closing, I began to panic- so I decided to go ahead and get my own certification. My certification specializes in vinyasa and Hatha styles of yoga, but every version of yoga is my favorite version. I love to lead, teach, learn, and practice yoga. When I am not teaching Middle School English, you can find me with a mat under my arm headed to do what I love.

Lindsey M (she/her)
Lindsey M (she/her)

I am an Oklahoma native, but moved to Kansas City 16 years ago and fell in love with it here. After graduating with a studio arts degree, a pastry arts certificate, a Masters of Art degree, and beginning a family, I started practicing yoga as a way to bring balance into my busy life. I knew instantly I needed to share the love and appreciation I felt for myself and my community when I practiced! I went back to school in 2013 to receive my certification as a 200 hour RYT from Boulevard Yoga and Healing Arts, and have taught studio classes, private lessons, kids yoga camps, and meditation sessions since. I specialize in Hatha and Vinyasas flow classes, bringing focus to the Self and awareness to what our bodies can do for our Selves when we practice mindfully. Classes focus on deep breathing, slowly transitioning through the asanas, and opening deeply through every space in our bodies and minds. I believe that by connecting to ourselves on the mat we can open our hearts to give our gifts

Codie Lea
Codie Lea

Hello! I'm Codie Lea. A Body Mind & Soul Coach and Holistic Alignment Practitioner. I have had the honor of healing the body through licensed massage therapy for the last 15 years. Holding my Master of Reiki certification, I help individuals understand, move and heal energy at a deep level. Being a Multi Clair Medium and Shaman, I get information from expanded senses, spirit guides, ancestors and the Earth. Using all of my expertise helps me to give well rounded sessions of healing tailored to each client. Within the Gene Keys and Human Design, I have found a guidebook to help others understand who they are at a quantum level; To realize how to harness their full potential and live it in the world. The Gene Keys are presented through the I Ching system of 64 Gene Keys that are the letters of the language of life present in the codes of the DNA of every human. Human Design shows you your body's consciousness as a decision-making tool, and ultimately, how to live as your true self. I also help others to face their gremlins (those pesky limiting beliefs), so they can strengthen their confidence in themselves and truly trust in their own power and intuition. I help teach others that they are on the brink of a huge breakthrough, they just have to sign up for the work. It is absolutely amazing to watch clients let go of living in a perpetual state of dissatisfaction and trade it for a life of joy and freedom.

Melinda Souders-Stevenson
Melinda Souders-Stevenson

I started practicing yoga many years ago when I was working in a very stressful corporate environment. My yoga practice really changed how I felt from a mind body and spirit perspective. My body was not well, and the stiffness and soreness I was feeling became overwhelming. My regular yoga practice, stretching, and using my breath to help me manage my anxiety was a life-saver for me. I completed my 200-hour certification and I have completed many other trainings and classes. I love being part of a yoga community, and it is important to me that I provide options and modifications for poses so that you can benefit from your practice. I have a lighthearted approach to teaching. I focus on mindfulness, and basic yoga poses, with some restorative yoga in each class. When class is over you can carry the feeling that you have from your practice, into your daily life. I often tell my students to remember that they have a portable oxygen tank that they carry with them ev
