Dawn Jacobs
Dawn Jacobs

Dawn Jacobs graduated from Mountain Gateway Community College in 2024 with a massage therapy certification and is licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing as a licensed massage therapist (LMT). Dawn is also a Holy Fire Reiki Lvl 2 Practitioner, a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT), and an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church. Informed by her rich life and career experiences, Dawn can provide intuitive massages by feeling areas in the body that need treatment and healing. Dawn graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Psychology in 1992 and completed all the required coursework for a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) from Hollins University. Two events took her off track from completing her MALS. First, she experienced a devastating house fire. A few months later in 2002, Dawn became the legal guardian of her 16-month-old great-nephew and dedicated her time to raising him to be a responsible and caring young man who is now a firefighter and owner of a lawn care business. During her career, Dawn developed the skills needed to be a dedicated advocate who effectively assesses clients’ needs and ensures these needs are met by coordinating available resources. At Blue Ridge Behavioral Health, she worked with individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges. As an intensive in-home therapist at Horizon Behavioral Health, she worked with children and families. She then served as a Public Guardian at Family Service of Roa Valley. For the last nine years, Dawn has been employed as a Mental Health Skill Builder for individuals with various mental health needs. Outside of her career, Dawn has participated in many workshops on several healing-centric topics: grief work, near-death experiences, prosperity, aromatherapy, energy healing (Reiki), and sound healing (Tibetan singing bowls and tuning Forks). Dawn is also skilled in mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork practices. Dawn looks forward to working with you!
