Edwin began his career with Aveda and has since traveled extensively as a multicultural stylist & educator developing curriculum across the country. He believes that the concepts of hairdressing and education should not be limited, and that stylist should be creative with hair as if it's art! ​Edwin has had a passion for hair, fashion, and beauty for years. It was in his hometown of New Orleans where Edwin began to develop an affinity for hairstyling. Extensively trained at Aveda Institute New Orleans & licensed, in a short time he has mastered a wide range of hair techniques including long hair, coloring, and extensions. However, his specialty and passions are cutting and custom wig making. He's Aveda trained at coloring techniques, foil highlights and low-lights, modern cuts, haircuts, styling, and special occasion hair dressing. Edwin believes in continual education and strives to stay at the forefront of his field with his knowledge of new products and services available in order to provide excellent service to his clientele. Edwin also places a high value on listening to his clients, understanding their needs and respecting their hair, and he strives for unlimited creativity! Edwin currently resides in New Orleans, LA. but is constantly on the move. He is a true jet-setter who continues to travel the states, working with television/film stars, recording artists and more. Edwin Merritt is a true professional on a level of his own who meet and succeeds the highest level of expectations.
