Hi ya’ll my name is Alexus Martinez, aka Coach Tex. I was proudly born and raised in Austin, TX! I played collegiate softball at Stanislaus State from 2015-2019, where I was the starting short stop and lead off hitter. At Stanislaus State I am the record holder for most hits in a single season (76) and in a career (254). I rank top three in the record book for a single season batting average (.390), career batting average (.348), and runs scored (129)! Upon graduation I continued my playing career overseas in Sweden! After a full season, I returned to Stanisalus State and served as the Assistant Coach from 2019-2021. Since then I moved back home, obtained my Master’s degree in Sports Administration, and have continued my coaching career as a travel coach and private hitting/fielding instructor in Austin, Tx. I am available to teach hitting, defense, throwing, speed and agility. Throughout my playing and coaching career I have found true fulfillment in helping the younger generation of athletes find joy in playing this game. My passion for softball is shown and given every day to the athletes I work with. I’m truly excited to join the team here at Core Sports Academy and continue guiding younger athletes to compete at their highest potential.
