Annie is available for international-quality training. Annie is a USDF Certified Instructor/Trainer through the highest level (FEI). Beyond her high achievements in the USA—including Grand Prix wins in Wellington, FL, on a self-trained horse and participation in a many clinics and symposiums at all levels across the country—Annie spent over 5 years in Europe training in Germany and working with some of the best riders in Portugal. She wants the best for every horse she works with and trains with kindness and thoughtfulness to help you reach your goals in and out of the show ring.
Chris has been in the Vail Valley since 2010 and couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home. He has always had a love for horses and is pursuing his passion of working with animals at the Cordillera Equestrian Center. Chris specializes in teaching beginner lessons and thoroughly enjoys seeing his students fall in love with the equine world as much as he is himself.
Laura was on a horse for the first time at age two, and she has never looked back! She has been teaching Hunter/Jumper lessons since 2008 and works with children through adult riders. Laura believes in a whole-horse education, tailoring each lesson to the rider’s goals, needs, and experience. She has shown in the Hunter/Jumper discipline at both regional and national levels and looks forward to working with you!
Jessica “Jess” Scheuring has been a trainer at the Cordillera Equestrian Center since 2000. She began her riding career in 1992, training with Jeanne Kane Quagliano, the assistant to Jack Le Goff, coach of the US Eventing team, for over a decade. Jess is known for her versatility in the equestrian sport, training her students for years in both the Western and English disciplines. She also loves teaching trail riding–enjoying nature from horseback. Jess believes that the best approach to training is creating a fun and relaxed environment for her students to enjoy as they learn. For the past 10 years, Jess has been taking her dressage students to horse shows around the state with great success, many ribbons won, and tons of fun.
Philip grew up riding with Olympic-level coaches and developed his early riding skills with his local Pony Club in Lake Placid, New York, where he graduated at A Level. He has been working in Colorado as a professional trainer in since 1980, focusing on Hunter/Jumper training and riding. Philip has competed at the Grand Prix level and works with all levels and ages of horses and riders. As a professional rider and trainer, riding has always been–and is still–an important part of his skillset. Philip has an absolute, life-long love of horses and the people who ride them.
Shannon Maloney is an ARIA and PATH Certified Instructor, and she has been a part of the horse world since she was seven years old. Shannon holds masters degrees in education and counseling. Her extensive experience as an educator gives her the skills to effectively teach to various learning styles and allows her to bring out the best in each horse and rider. Shannon excels in her ability to work with all levels of riders from beginners to advanced. She specializes in teaching dressage and beginner jumping and believes in creating a strong flatwork foundation so that riders are capable of moving into whichever discipline they prefer. Shannon's goal is to build confident and independent equestrians in a safe and professional setting. Shannon is also a big believer in continuing education, and she currently trains under two of the most recognized dressage professionals in the Colorado horse community, Shannon Warner and Elaine Marion. Her commitment to furthering her own education as a trainer allows her to continue advancing and improving her clients' skills and riding abilities. She is the owner of October Farms Equestrians.
