ABOUT LEAD TEACHING ARTIST: ELIZABETH SELDIN Elizabeth Seldin has been teaching theater for over 20 years. She is a certified yoga teacher, Qigong practitioner and internal martial artist which informs all of the creative work she does. Bringing mindfulness and energy body awareness and dynamics to personal coaching, she creates a space for artists to explore and deepen their practices. Proud graduate of the Ithaca College Theatre Dept., Elizabeth has also received training from Circle In The Square Musical Theatre Program (Broadway, NYC), The Eugene O'Neil National Theatre Institute as well as St. Petersburg Theater Institute in Russia. Teaching Specialties Include: Audition Technique, Rhythm Tap Dance, Fight Choreography, Playwriting, Creating and Producing your own work as well as creative exploration for children. Awards/Grants Received: 1. CAP SOS Grant for directing The Hope Project (a devised theatrical experience written by elementary school children ( The GIAC scholars) inspired by Black Lives Matter movement and the shut down of the pandemic. 2. CAP Creative Recovery Fund for creating an original musical written by Carley Robinson and Elizabeth Seldin with the themes of social justice, mental and emotional health as well as female driven storytelling that performed at The State Theatre. 3. Camilla Schade Teaching Award for exemplary teaching at The Hangar Theatre. 4. Commendation Award for her work as a Fight Choreographer in the production of She Kills Monsters at Ithaca High School.
